V-belts

  V-belts - an important element of agricultural equipment, machine tools, various industrial machines. It allows you to transfer torque between the shafts of the mechanism by stretching the pulleys. The side surfaces of the belts are simultaneously working.

 V-belts - transmit rotation between the drive shaft and the follower over a long distance with high efficiency (more than 95%) and ensure smooth operation of the node with a low noise level. The operating temperature range is very wide, from -30 ° C to + 60 ° C. The disadvantages include not the smallest size (compared with toothed belts) and quick wear when working with high-speed equipment.

The most common use of V-belts of normal section, or, as they are also called, is classic. The main carrier layer of such belts is a cord - bundles of fibers of polyester, nylon or Dacron, in some cases - Kevlar or aramid to increase the load capacity. The cord is closed on both sides by a rubber base, which perceives stretching above the base layer and compression under it. The design combines and protects the wrapper from the external environment - rubberized fabric.

For proper and reliable work, the V-belt has high requirements for visual inspection. The wrapper should have a smooth and durable seam; lateral surfaces - without cracks, irregularities, zamyatin; the top of the belt should be convex or straight, and the bottom should be concave or straight. You should also remember about the correct setting of the belts on the pulleys and the parallel arrangement of the pulleys relative to each other.

The dimensions of the V-belts are given in six standard profiles, differing in size in cross section. Profiles are denoted by Latin (in the ISO standard) or Cyrillic letters (in the GOST standard). The main characteristics of the profiles are shown in the table below.
